Welcome December!

Happy Hollidays, bloggers! We at the CDub had a great Thanksgiving, and hope you had one as well. Now is the time that everyone is scrambling to find the perfect gift. Good thing we've been getting in a lot of shipments.
We've recently gotten in a lot of dresses, coats (fur and leather), jackets, and miscellaneous items for the upcoming Retro Fest. What I'd like to show off is the fancy new jewelry that just came in.

Lockets are cool.

The long thing is a snake bracelet!

Fancy earrings.

Elephants with upturned noses are good luck!

Leopard rings. They wrap around your finger... like a real miniature kitty would?

Jewelry is a nice gift, because some pieces are so generally beautiful that it's difficult to pick out something a person won't enjoy. But if there's still nothing in our store that stands out as a gift for that vintage loving friend, remember we do sell Gift Cards!
That's all for now, bloggers! Come in soon to get your unique gift before someone else does!

Excuse my nerdy-ness.

Hello Bloggers! Xtina here. I figure we need a new blog post and I haven't really made a fully non-store related post so here goes...
I'm not sure if you're aware, but this week something amazing has happened. The first installment of the Harry Potter Deathly Hallows finale has been released! (Yes, I am completely aware how ridiculously nerdy I am. But there has to be a couple of our cool bloggers that appreciate a bit of Magic!)

But why am I so excited? Because they're doing it right this time by making it two parts. Yeah, yeah I know a lot of people think that splitting one book into two movies is some ploy from the movie industry to get more money, but I really approve of it. For one, The Deathly Hallows book is 784 pages long with 36 Chapters. Do you really think all of that could be summed up in one two hour movie? Heck no. The Deathly Hallows book (for those who haven't read it) is immensely intricate. The genius of Jo Rowling connected ideas and themes all the way from the first book to the last so that reading the books more than once is almost a requirement. Enough of that rambling.

Here's another superfluos opinion section:
The Prisoner of Azkaban (3rd) is my favorite of the Potter films - Why? The visuals, the stylistic jumps, and all the small details. The third film made the jump from the second movie being a kids film to a darker more intricate world that showed the good and bad potential of magic.
The Goblet of Fire (4th) is my least favorite - Why? Ew. It was the shortest film and almost the longest book. What?! There was no passage of time, the editing was horrible. Scene changes and chapter jumps were just redick. And the humor in the script was not to my liking. They tried to be snarky and witty, but they failed. (And I'm a fan of British humor, ex:Monty Python) I could go on all day about it... Whoops.

Well, now that half of our readers are bored to death, I'm done. Excuse my nerdy-ness.
See you soon!

Hello November!

How's it going, bloggers? As you've (hopefully) noticed we now have a facebook. We've been doing a lot of miniscule updates on it and leaving the big stuff for you guys! So if you haven't already added us on facebook, you should. Now on to business!
Halloween was a smash. But now November has rolled around the corner and it's time for our monthly sale.

This month all Men's Short Sleeve Westerns are $17.95! AND all our Corduroy pants are Buy One Get One Half Off!

Fret not, ladies! Some of these cords are SMALL and we've already taken the liberty to label a few in women's sizes. And if you find a pair not labeled so, one of our lovely sales staff can surely help you figure out the sizings! Personally, I like our cords alot. Most of them are a good tight straigt leg. Very flattering, according to What Not to Wear... Not that I watch that show.

Well, that's all for now. (Except for this awkward family photo from Halloween.)

Awwwww. Ain't we cute? All that's missing is our new addition, Amina! She just didn't work that day. Sad, sad.
Hope to see you soon!

Come See the New Shipment!!

Hey guys! This is my first blog post, I never knew what to say but I came into work this morning and our new shipment was all hung out and as I started flipping through it, I saw the first amazing thing and my mouth dropped a little bit, well by the end of it my mouth was to the ground and out the door! Such great things, from cute dresses, sexy dresses, and even a beaded bra! Many things that would look great on Halloween for that ready to party look to a fun adorable look. Dresses that with a simple cardigan and a pair of boots become instantly fall ready, and you guys are in luck because we got it all!

And boys we don't want to leave you guys out, so we got some great leathers in, even a black leather Members Only, such a classic.

Well come on into the store and ask one of us about the great things and we'll be happy to show you!

-Katie

ps. I do guess some of the lines were a little cheesy, but honestly I was just so excited about this shipment I had to tell someone! My blog post isnt too bad for the first time right?

A New Season

How's this new Fall season feel, bloggers? I don't miss summer one bit, except it keeps coming back for revenge. Yesterday was way too hot for September.

Here at the CDub we're going through a season change too. Our old manager Jenna has left us to move back home to Missouri. Jenna was a great woman and she did a lot for our store. We're all very happy for her, but that doesn't mean we won't miss her bunches. We'll miss your constant Greatful Dead/Widespread Panic, your layers gum, too much redbull, your grandma knee's, your use of the steamer, how you WARSH clothes, your cute doggies, your flawless hair, your horrible taste in cheetah shoes, and most of all - your stage dive (or fall, I should say.) Your water bottle will always live in the fridge. We love you, Jenna!

Our new manager is a former salesperson here at the store, Jamy. He is very excited to be in his new position, and we all can't wait to see what new twist he's going to bring to our store! So be sure to congratulate Jamy next time you drop in.

That being said, we've been rearranging the store a lot. We'll also be doing some little tweaks to the basic look of the store. It's a good thing if you come in and don't recognize the store, right?
If you'd like to make any suggestions, hit up our formspring here:

That's it for now, bloggers. Enjoy this sweater weather!

Artist Cory E. Wilson

I just got word that Cory E. Wilson is doing an Opening and Reception for his art September 26th.
It's some pretty sick stuff, and it's definitely worth a trip down there to see.
The pieces I've seen are completely mind blowing original,
i can guarantee it's unlike anything you've ever seen.
Not only is his art killer and a half, but
I met im today and he is a genuinely super chill guy.
Which that really makes easy for me to promote him and get the word out,
trust me if he was an untalented jerk i would not take the time to write this.
So for real check him out Sunday September 26th 7 p.m. at Bang! Salon 1 wade Hampton Blvd Greenville S.C.
Also local band The Van Dangs will be performing live!
I'll be there for sure!
-Cassidy

i'm Falling for fall.

Fall is creepin in and i can't be happier!
Those nice breezy days, and borderline cold nights are perfect sweater weather.
So since it's sweater weather we have the gift of sweaters!
We got sweatshirts, nightmare on elm street striped sweaters, and my personal favorite Mr. Rogers old man cardigans. We even have some Lacoste cardigans in the style of Chubs from Happy Gilmore.
So come checkout the selection and suit up for FALLLLL!

Chubs in that good lookin Lacoste sweater

On a second note of mindless rambling on, everyone has things that annoy the crap out of them... I'm no exception. So with a chance to vent, here are some things that really annoy me.

-People who only know one modest mouse song (Float on)
-People who look amazing in our dresses but choose not to buy because they are afraid of what their friends might think. Do what you like! be yourself!
-When my arm or foot falls asleep.
-that tickle of about to sneeze and then no sneeze comes :(
-having itches when you have a cast on your arm.
-People who say "All of a Sudden", what does that even mean..think about it, then try to describe it. Makes no sense.
-Folding up road maps. Frustrating.
-When people switch lanes in front of you without signaling.
-From First to Last without Sonny Moore.
-The new animated ninja turtles show, the new CGI tmnt movie.
-Robot Chicken. period.
-CSI and law and order and every spin off they think up, next they are gonna have CSI Nursing Home: Natural Causes Investigated, and Law and Order FPVU food poisoning victims unit.
-How tiger woods is terrible this season but he still made it in the ryder cup, and no matter how bad he does he is still the talk of the Tournament's he's in.
Same thing with Tim Tebow and Florida. Tebow is gone but the anouncers still talk about Tebow every five seconds.
-Tim Tebow. haha When he cried after losing to Alabama it was pathetic. No babies in the NFL please.

That's all for now and hey! that made me feel alot better! Get your annoyances off your chest, it does wonders.

Helloooo September!

Doesn't this Fall weather feel wonderful, Bloggers? It's so nice to be able to go outside without your face melting off.
If you haven't noticed, it's also football season. Our dear Cassidy is trying to keep us updated with the latest info on football, but if you're like me it just flies right over your head. Who cares about some pigskin getting tossed around when there's clothes to be bought, and outfits to be generated? But I digress.

This month's sales are:
Polo's are Buy One Get One free.
Men's and Women's Short sleeve shirts are 20% off!

Now, let's get specific here before you get too excited. By short sleeve shirts we mean NOT T-shirts. Mostly these are spiffy dress shits, button ups, and collared shirts. But that's more complicated then saying "short sleeve shirts." So we apologize in advance for any confusion.

One more thing: We've gotten a lot of new stuff in in the past couple of weeks that we've been too busy to update. Fancy dresses, sweaters, sweatshirts, skirts and more fall/wintery items. We also are trying out selling some vintage tennis shoes. We've got vintage slip-on van's and converses from the 80's.

Well, I think that's all for now. Come in soon because we've restarted our bloggers 15% off discount for ya and our new items won't last long.

Stephen Garcia Has Arrived.

In the season opener against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles, Steve Spurrier's gamecocks were anything but "disappointing". In Fact the black and garnet drove to a 41 to 13 victory over the eagles. But what was even more satisfying to the gamecock nation than the victory, was the premiere of freshmen Marcus Lattimore (running back from byrnes high) and the arrival of Stephen Garcia. Garcia played the quarter back position with style, skill and expert decision making. So to all who said Spurrier is washed up and Garcia is less than talented think again...

One team down, now on to Georgia!

much love,

IHeartCollegeFootBall!

Thursday night college football season officially begins! Now as for me I'm an all out Gamecock fanatic, but being this close to Clemson, we have alot of customers who's blood runs orange. So in the name of state pride and for the love of the game I'm going to post my "realistic" and "unbiased" record predictions for the season.

America's Team (South Carolina Gamecocks)
i predict they go (optimistically): 10 wins and 2 losses play in SEC title.
i predict they go (realistically, most likely): 9 wins and 3 losses play in east division title.
i predict they go (pessimistically) 7 wins and 5 losses.

Clemson Tigers
i predict they go (optimistically): 9 wins and 3 losses play in ACC title.
i predict they go (realistically, most likely): 8wins and 4 losses play in coastal division title.
i predict they go (pessimistically) 5 wins and 7 losses.

There's my predictions,
What's yours?
Also keep looking for new sales, new shipments, and awesome blogs!

On My Mind.

So there's some things on my mind and what better place to spill than here.
First off I'm super happy that the "heat wave" seems to be coming to an end.
Sweating your face off is not very fun, and the cooler weather means i get to start wearing sweaters and hoodies, which are my favorite. I for one welcome Fall and Winter with open embracing arms, and to Summer i say,"Good riddance!".
One reason i love Fall is because it really makes movie watching more fun. I love movies with a passion, deep plots, intense characters, ridiculous situations, and cheesy perverted jokes. Summer seems to suck the life out of me, and i watch less movies and do more complaining.
So in the name of Movie weather I'm going to post my top 10 favorite films!

Top Ten favorite films:
1. Donnie Darko
2. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.
3. Blow.
4. A Clockwork Orange.
5. Wicker Park
6. The Science of sleep.
7. Dan in Real life.
8. Hard Candy.
9. The jerk.
10. Never ending story.

There you have it!
Cassidy Ramey's top ten favorite movies of all time!
Comment and post your top ten, ill be happy to read it!

Keep shoppin here, and keep lovin vintage!

The Last Day of Summer

Dear Bloggers,
It is my unfortunate duty to inform you (if you didn't already know) that today is the last day of summer. Greenville County Schools start back tomorrow, as do a few local colleges. How this day came so quickly upon us, I do not know. But I promise to you few that have to suffer along with me that there is one thing to look forward to: SWEATERS! And hoodies, and jackets, and puffer vests, and such!
It (hopefully) won't be long until the days start getting cooler. So we're currently putting out our back stock of coats to satisfy such needs.
We've put out Member's Only coats, sweaters, cardigans, track jackets, blazers, leather coats, and blazers for you back to school shoppers.

Also, we have new shirts! We're the exclusive downtown seller of the Greenville - Grow Your Own Roots shirts, made by Kate Barton.
Here's what the logo looks like:

They're printed on soft vintage wash Alternative Apparel shirts, and come in women's sizes Small through XLarge. If we have a big response/requests for the shirts in Men's sizes we might oblige! Come in and try one on, they're a great way to rep GVille and support Local Art.
Here's a link to more info on these sweet shirts: http://www.kathryndalebarton.com/wp/grow-your-own-roots/

That's all for now, Bloggers. Come in to see us soon!

Augustus!

Bloggers! This is the time you've been waiting your whoooole life for.
August Sale!
All our clothes are 20% off! YES! Every single dress, western, vest, jacket, t-shirt and any other article of clothing is 20% off!
So come in soon and get your pick of your best back to school outfit (or if you're too cool for school, your new Fall clothes).

Also, we have about 200 new T-shirts coming in this week. So prepare yourself for that. We're putting out a bunch of track jackets, leather jackets and other type coats for the colder weather coming soon. We're also stocking up on new sunglasses, jewelry, dresses and hats.

Other things: Music. We're like family at the CDub and get along very well, but the one thing we all always fight over is the music. We each have our favorite bands and genres of music, which makes a nice mix, but also alot of squabbling over the store iPod. We've recently been running a lot of new and different albums. I've been listening WNCW a lot, and getting some good music off there. One album I heard on there was the new Broken Bells. It's a pretty cool mash up between Danger Mouse and James Mercer (lead vocal for the Shins). It's pretty good store music. I've also been playing tons Tunng, Tegan & Sara's newest album, Ryan Adams, Band of Horses, Digitalism, Sabrepulse, Steve Ray Vaughn, Of Montreal, and other random-ness. Cass has been hitting up a lot of bands he heard at this year's Warped Tour, whether or not the rest of us like listening to whatever he's playing. Bahaha.
If you'd like to suggest some music just do so on our formspring. Here's a handy dandy box, you can just type in:

Don't mind the "question" part. Just give us some feedback!

Well that's all for rambling. Come in to see us soon!

Formspring 2.

New question!

What do you want to see more of at the CDub for the upcoming Fall Season?

I've been on a neverending search for the perfect sweater. If you've seen Revenge of the Nerds, I want a ridiculous fraternity/sorority sweater. (If you haven't seen that movie, go see it NOW.)
I think I'll have to settle for a sweet 80's track jacket. We got some good'uns, so I suppose its not really "settling."

Well, that's beside the point.
Here's the point: we're here for you, so please give us a little feedback.

Warped Tour Twenty Ten

The sickest bands, the most wicked stages, the coolest people, the sweatiest conditions, and the most fun part of the summer. It's arrived... Warped tour will be hitting Charlotte N.C. in two days, so if you are planning on heading that way come by here first and buy your wardrobe and make a statement courtesy of the Clothing Warehouse. Xtina said that the guitarist from "The Chase" (which will be playing Warped this year) stopped in today and bought up some good vintage clothes for the show. So if the artist are preparing here, sounds like the rest of us should take a hint and follow in their footsteps! I'll also be there to enjoy the day's events so if you see me scream at me, let me know who you are and we can party it up and hit a show together! If you wanna track me down, the best shows to find me at would be 3OH!3, Alkaline Trio, IwrestledAbearOnce, Bring me the horizon, andrew w.k, and definitely and most importantly Mike Posner! So come and track me down.
much love-CASSidy

formspring 1!

Alrighty guys, we're trying something new here.
Has anyone heard of formspring? Well, formspring is usually used as a sort of post board, where users can ask each other questions and recieve answers.
Here at the CDub, we've decided to use this handy-dandy site as a way to become more tuned in to our fans.
So here's how it's gonna' work: We'll post the question on here, with a link to our formspring site and you get to answer it!
We'll also be happy to take suggestions, or stories and such pertaining to our awesome-ness.
So without further ado, the first question!

What's your favorite item you bought at our store and why?

Answer it here: http://www.formspring.me/thegvillecdub

Now, get to answering! We'll update questions weekly-ish, so keep an eye out for that.

Hello, vintage fans! Joint post time! Let me explain...
We got these really cool fedoras in recently. Look at this beautiful shot:

Do you guys like them? Yes? No?! Well, maybe you'd like them better if you saw them on a person. Here's some *random* models for you sporting the fedoras.

The cool thing about these fedoras is that they're unisex, so Ladies and Gents can rock them! And rock them well, I might add.
The black one is my favorte. (Obviously.)
Here's a detail of the sweet feather on it:

So how do you feel about these fedoras now?

You LOVE them? Of course you do. Everyone cool does, and they're going fast. So come in a buy one, before we're all sold out!
(Oh, and the reason this is a joint post is because Cassidy and Xtina both took the pictures, Cass then modified the model's pictures, and Xtina did the uploading and typing and whatnot. Also, thank you to the random models.)
Over and out,
Xtina

Booooooots y'know!

Ladies! The time has come. I know you've all come in, eyeballed our boots, maybe tried a couple on, but never found quite the right pair... Well, it's time to come try again because we got NEW BOOTS! Ahhhh crazy excitement!!! Here's some shots:

As you can see all these boots are in ridiculously good condition for being so old. The highligt of our shipment was the final shot, which is a pair of amazing Frye's! There's also a couple of good Justin boots in there too. Most of the sizes of the new boots are 7 to 8.5... So come in and check them out. It's the perfect season to wear some 70's cowboy boots with a pretty dress, and these boots won't be here long!

Oodles of Shades!

Why hello there, fans! Xtina here, giving you a breaking news report on what's new in The CDub.

First and foremost is the shades! We've got our sunglasses all stocked up and ready to go on your face and then out the door. A popular pick for this summer is the Black Wayfarers, just like the ones above here.
Those are some sweet shades. My favorite sunglasses are the brown fade Aviators. I think they look good on everybody, so come in and I'll let ya try 'em on.

Another big item we stocked up on is Vests! Women and Men, we can find a good vest for you. I think you can never have enough vests and sunglasses. One in every color is what I strive for.

Last, but not least, DRESSES! Yes, ladies, we have more summer dresses for you. We got tons of sun dresses in, to help you stay cool and look hot! Oh, and I almost forgot. We once again have more new jewelry for the ladies. Peacock feather necklace and matching peacock earrings, say whatttt?! Yeah, I love me some peacock feathers. They can be classy elegant or a new twist to an old casual top. We also have some cool Robot necklaces. The arms totally move! (Sorry, that just gets me excited.)

Well, I think that's about it for now. Check back soon because we'll be getting in more stuff this week. Oh, and come in the store and see me. I'll be the one in the vest (probably).

What's hotter than the summer heat?

Summer heat has been kicking our butts up and down the street. It's safe to say that the expression "That's Hot!" isn't always a good thing to hear, but when it comes to the $6.95 dress rack at the Clothing Warehouse "That's Hot!" is something we don't mind hearing. Seven bucks for a killer vintage dress is pretty much a steal. We also have new shades on the way, and new dresses and jewelry coming on Friday! So my word of advice is to get here this weekend on the real to get first choice of the new stuff. Ok? You got that? Cool! And think about it like this..If you are a member of the blog you get 15% off, so if you put that with our already low prices it kinda makes you almost crazy for not buying.
Well now that we got the business aspect out of the way I wanna just mention some things that's been on my mind lately (likes, dislikes, etc.). First off as far as music, I'm really into the Killers, Franz Ferdinand, Chad VanGaalen, and of course Modest Mouse lately. Tabitha and myself listen to "Ulysses" by Franz Ferdinand almost religiously. If you shop here frequently, chances are you've heard us play it. "When you were young" by the Killers has really been in my head a lot as of lately, and I'm pretty much addicted to "Missed the Boat" and "Satin in a Coffin" by Modest Mouse. Also you guys need to check out my buddy Mike Posner, he will be playing in the Warped Tour this year so if you make it out to support him at the Atlanta and Charlotte stops you will probably see me, Say what's up and dance with me if you do. I'm currently disliking pretty much everything on the radio right now... If it weren't for my ipod I'd most likely shoot myself on the way to work every day. Kinda funny I said that, because if I literally shot myself everyday I would have more holes in me than swiss cheese, and my ability to drive would be severely questioned... Haha. When it comes to movies I'm loving the story line of "Dan in Real life". It's very real, and shows love tested by awkward situations, plus Juliette Binoche is stunning the whole movie. I'm not so much however loving the Avatar obsession, I didn't get as big of kick out of it as apparently the rest of humanity did. If you agree with me on any of these things come into the shop and tell me, if you don't come tell me what you like and dislike. I love talking to just about anyone! We all do actually. Let's see... other things I like.... Well the coolest and prettiest employee of the underground coffee shop across the street just came in for conversation and that pretty much made my whole day :) I'm also liking super Mario 3 for the old Nintendo, I'll beat it one day I swear!
Well that's all for now, hopefully I will see you guys soon!
Much love,
Cassidy

Buy our stuff, Wear our stuff, Rep our stuff.

So there's alot of things to address, First off I (Cassidy) am no longer the newbie of the Clothing Warehouse family. We just adopted a very awesome girl by the name of Stephannie... She's got a great style (as we all do, or at least we like to think that way... haha) and super sweet taste in music (Grateful dead...etc). So I think you should all come out and show her some love in her first few weeks. Say hello, buy some stuff from her, and enjoy shopping at the place we call home.
Second thing I'd like to discuss is our newest arrivals. Yesterday we got in a HUGE shipment that included women's ethnic blouses, super sweet vintage skirts, women's tops in more styles than you can shake a stick at and women's and guy vests among other things. We also scored some 80's high waisted shorts for those girls heading to some outdoor music festivals this summer. They were very popular at Coachella this past week with all the celebrities rocking this summer trend. Check out this link... http://mamasarollingstone.com/celebrity-style-coachella-2010/ .I also heard from a little birdy named Jenna that we have some insanely rad guy's wallets making an appearance later this week. I don't know about you guys, but I can really appreciate a good wallet when I see one.
Last but not least... Our blog has really been kicking off these past few weeks with new followers and lots of great people taking advantage of that 15% discount. Soo since the blog has been receiving such good traffic, we had the idea of getting you customers and our Clothing Warehouse faithfuls out there to send in photos of you wearing clothes and other things you've bought from C-dub.

This is Kel-zilla in a custom cut Pink Floyd tee purchased here. She bought it and followed through with her promise to send pics in it. I was surprised when the pic looked so epic! Right on Kelly!
So to all you shoppers out there, follow Kelly's example and send in photos. You'll make the Blog and get to show off your C-dub blog fame to your friends along with making our products look hip.
Til next time,
-CASSidy
